In 1997, the District Health Directors requested that a more coordinated approach to QA be developed. The Office of Nursing was charged with leading the new approach to QA/QI.
The term quality assurance means maintaining a high quality of health care by constantly measuring the effectiveness of the organizations that provide it. In the United States, two nonprofit groups dominate the performance-measurement field.
Quality in healthcare means providing the care the patient needs when the patient needs it, in an affordable, safe, effective manner. Quality healthcare also means engaging and involving the patient, so the patient takes ownership in preventive care and in the treatment of diagnosed conditions.
Quality Assurance in Public Health. Quality assurance has evolved to define quality by understanding the core activities for effective healthcare, setting benchmarks, designing surveys, performing audits and conducting analysis or supervision visits in private companies or hospitals, government organisations and public health facilities.
Hospital Quality Assurance System :: Hospiad. Quality assurance is any systematic process of checking to see whether a product or service being developed is meeting specified requirements. Many hospitals have a separate quality assurance committee devoted to quality assurance.
