Philadelphia’s Division of Behavioral Health provides mental health services for adults and children requiring medical, social, and educational services. The office provides these services through an extensive network of contracted provider agencies located throughout Philadelphia. This network of services includes:
This field office handles the licensure of mental health programs and collaboration with Warren and Torrence state hospitals. Manages the Harrisburg field office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, oversight of 24 counties in central Pennsylvania.
Emergency Services If you are an adult who is having a Mental Health or Substance Abuse emergency, you may go to any of Philadelphia's Crisis Response Centers, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These CRCs are located in different parts of the city, so there is one fairly close to where you are in Philadelphia.
Today, PMHCC makes a major contribution to Philadelphia’s citizens by serving as an umbrella organization for special programs and initiatives, and providing critical administrative services to mental health, substance abuse, mental retardation, human services, special health and related city offices and programs.
