Environmental Health is a division within the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. The Environmental Health Division is responsible for the enforcement and education of Federal, State, and local laws and regulations relating to environmental factors which affect public health and safety.
Our mission is to protect the public health and the environment throughout Los Angeles County from accidental releases and improper handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous materials and wastes through coordinated efforts of inspections, enforcement, site mitigation oversight, and emergency response.
Environmental Health conducts routine inspections and/or complaint investigations at commercial, residential and public sites throughout the County in an effort to protect the public’s health.
