Part of AmeriCorps, Community HealthCorps offers a real-life education and service experience. Community HealthCorps Members perform a variety of activities associated with health services and programs for patients and communities, often by functioning as community health workers (CHWs).
The most important piece of disaster preparedness is making sure the patients are properly taken care of including their diagnosis, treatment, and follow up. For this to happen, healthcare organizations must have a method of entering the patient into their “system” so the procedures and care process can begin.
The chair of the AHPC or delegate will contribute to the Commonwealth recovery operations though the Australian Government Disaster Recovery Committee (AGDRC) on behalf of the AHPC through the provision of advice on health protections aspects, progress of national health sector coordination activities and outlook.
