What is a Certified Community Health Worker (CHW)? A certified community health worker (CHW) is a frontline public health worker who is a trusted member of and/or has a close understanding of the community served.
All CCHWs are required to earn 10 continuing education units (CEUs) each year. At least five of those hours must come from KDPH-approved training. You may earn up to five hours from independent training. For the full list of 2020 and 2021 KDPH-approved training please email CHW Certification
