There are many barriers to teamwork in the workplace. It takes a good leader to identify them and work to break them down. One of the most common is physical barriers, such as operating in different locations or being far removed from your team in a cube maze.
The three types of teamwork problems. There are three types of teamwork problems: the ones you can fix with some work, the ones you can fix with a lot of work and those that can’t be fixed. It really comes down to whether the people on the team want to solve the problem or not, and that determines whether or not the teamwork problem can be fixed.
Poor communication is also one of the barriers to effective team building. Too much of a complicated hierarchy also result in poor and ineffective communication. Unorganized thoughts and abstract ideas create misunderstandings and confusions among the team members and in turn decrease the productivity of the team.
